SHEIN Swimsuit Haul 2021

Summer is almost here and I'm ready to spend some time at the pool, so of course that means I need some new swimsuits! I used to be obsessed with Victoria's Secret Swim, but I just couldn't bring myself to spend so much this year. Is it just me, or have their prices increased drastically? Last year I bought a few bikinis from Amazon, so I took a look around there, but no luck. I've been seeing tons of Influencers on Instagram post super cute swimsuits from SHEIN, so I went to the website to take a look. First off, the website is very overwhelming because there are so many options. You could scroll for hours and not run out of options. Second, everything was shockingly cheap. The average price for a bikini (top and bottom) was around $10. That's not some sort of special sale price. That was regular price. The ones on sale were about $3.50. And you can use discount codes on top of it. To give you an idea, I bought 7 bikinis and 4 cover-ups for $70. What?!!??!

I know what you're thinking because I was thinking it, too...these will be so cheaply made that they'll fall apart, the material will probably feel cheap, and I'm sure they're not lined. Wrong! Everything felt like it was very high quality and lined. The stitching appears to be in good order. These don't feel or look any different than an expensive swimsuit. To be completely upfront, I haven't worn any of these in a pool yet. It's still a little too cold out for that. I've only tried them on, and again, they feel like the same quality as any other swimsuit I own. Below are the suits I got:

There are only two negatives to these swimsuits:

(1) Sizing - Make sure to check the size chart for each swimsuit. A size small can vary dramatically from suit to suit. The measurements seemed very accurate, you just have to take the time to look them up. Also, the sizing for the tops and bottoms seemed odd for a few suits. I typically wear a small in tops and bottoms. I'm lucky enough to be pretty evenly proportioned so I can get the same size in both pieces. You don't get to choose your sizes separately for the top and bottom, so you just have to go with it. What I found odd was that some of the bottoms fit like an XXS and the top was more like a medium. The sizes were accurate from the sizing chart, but several of the tops were pretty big compared to what I would expect based on the size of the bottoms.

(2) Coverage - There is not a lot of back coverage for these suits. I had an incredibly hard time finding suits with bottoms that had a moderate amount of material in the back. The majority of the suits on the website I would describe as thongs or nearly thongs. Even some of these moderate coverage suits were incredibly cheeky. The suit I'm wearing in the first picture has very little to the back. I will not be wearing it without a coverup over it. Even suits that were more full coverage and high-waisted had hardly anything in the back.

Overall, I really like the swimsuits and recommend you give them a try. I was able to get 7 for less than what I would have paid for one at other places. I figured that even if only one or two worked, it was worth the money!
